March for Life Hawaii, January 24

Posted on January 17, 2015 in: General News

Saturday, January 24, 12:30pm - 5:30pm
42nd Annual Rally and March for Life
Hawaii State Capitol Rotunda
415 South Beretania Street
Honolulu,HI 96813

Aloha Life Advocates (Hawaii Right to Life), is sponsoring the 42nd Annual Rally & March for Life at the State Capitol.

The 2015 rally, themed, “All Human Life, born and unborn, are Precious Gifts!” is a family-friendly event and expects to again draw more than 1,000 supporters of all ages.  Our keynote speaker is Reverend David Lupo, SSCC; other speakers include Deacon Kin Borja, president, Aloha Life Advocates (Hawaii Right to Life), Ms. Barbara J. Ferraro, Executive Director, Concerned Women of America.

Entertainers from Victory Outreach, the Anointed One; the Island Praise Band; Hawaii Catholic  Charismatic Renewal Services (HCCRS) will provide musical enlightenment.  Ms. Shanita Akana and Ms. Cynthia Milles will grace us with their angelic voices.

Our poster child is Baby Harry who is now 2 months old.  When Baby Harry was conceived and his mother went for her 1st prenatal ultrasound, the doctor informed her that her baby has brain damage, cleft lips, and a hole in heart.  She was advised to “terminate” her pregnancy.  The parents refused to follow their suggestion inasmuch as they understand that this baby growing in her womb is their child and creation through God’s mercy and grace.  They were resolved that no matter what happens, Baby Harry will be loved and nurtured.  Baby Harry is now 2 ½ months old and he does not have “brain damage.”

He was born with a cleft lip, a small hole in his heart, that will correct itself and he only has one eye. He had his first surgery early January 2015 to correct his upper lip.  He is striving and growing with the love of his entire family.  Our message is for all women to not totally rely on the first ultrasound test result; they need to seek proper medical diagnosis and obtain more tests.

“It is important to recognize and to commemorate the lives that have been lost and the families affected by abortion over the decades...” said Deacon Kin Borja, President, Aloha Life Advocates.  In addition, we want to come together as a family and as a community to celebrate life for all people—from conception to natural end.  To this end, this 2015 Rally & March will be a celebration featuring local entertainers, fun activities and games, and witnesses.

There will be face painting for the young at heart, children bowling, poster drawing contest, sign waving, and many giveaways.  It’s all free and will be a fun day for the whole family.
