This weekend we have a second collection for the worldwide missions of the Catholic Church, a global effort to provide for the building up of over one thousand local churches in Asia and Africa, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Our Parish Pastoral Council invites all parishioners to present a fellow parishioner as a nominee whose name might appear on the Council ballot with the election to take place in December. The Parish Council has the primary duty of assisting our pastor in discerning the needs of our parish and then seeking together to meet the need. Basic requirement: have a deep faith and a great love for our parish. If you or a parishioner you know might qualify, contact Parish Council chair Chris Kaiser:

Each year the Order of Malta (see their website) takes several people who are seriously ill to the Shrine of Our Lady of Lourdes in France to pray for their healing. The Order of Malta pays all the expenses of the sick person (called by the French word "malade"). Of course, the person must be well enough to travel.  Companions may accompany the malade, but at their own expense. The nominees for this event must meet the following specifications:
        • A committed practicing Catholic for whom a pilgrimage to Lourdes would be very meaningful in their life.
        • Someone currently dealing with a serious health issue or a life-changing illness.
        • Nominations should be submitted by November 15, 2018. Travel is for April 30 to May 8.
Interested persons may contact Father Arnold at
